Former Interns

Emily Burke

Emily was a double major in sociology and justice and society. She is involved with research on U.S. Catholic bishops and climate change with Dr. Danielsen and Dr. DiLeo and an independent research project on U.S. Catholic bishops and scientific appeals. As an SSDL intern, she assisted with the Omaha Eviction Project. She is now a graduate student in the Department of Sociology at University of Wisconsin-Madison.


Audrey was a double major in psychology and criminal justice. She helped create online maps and dashboards for the Omaha Eviction Project in summer 2020. She graduated in Spring 2021 and is now working for the U.S. Secret Service.


Thea Pflum – Community Outreach Intern

Thea was a medical anthropology major at Creighton. She helped the lab with community outreach work related to the Omaha Eviction Project. She has also worked for the AmeriCorps in Eastern Wisconsin on food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic.


Kevin Boes

Kevin graduated from Creighton in May 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in medical anthropology. He was the SSDL’s first intern, assisting with start-up tasks, data management and coding, assisting students in the lab’s Statistics in the Social Sciences course, and conducting independent research.
